“Brigasco” territory
At the center of the Mediterranean Alps the “brigasca” region which takes its name from the ancient municipality of Briga Marittima. After second world war that great municipality, once belonging to the Italian state, province of Cuneo, was divided into three parts, between two States, Italy and France and three provinces. It is therefore the cross-border center of the area, characterized by a linguistic, historical and economic enclave. From a geographical and orographic point of view Monte Saccarello, the highest peak of the Liguria Region, in the middle of the Brigasca region, acts as a watershed between 4 valleys.
