Postcards from the past … the village still looks like that, nowadays almost abandoned
Realdo is the village of the former Briga Marittima that after the second world war was transferred to the Municipality of Triora, province of Imperia. It clearly differs from the other fractions of the Municipality for the autonomous language, a variant of the Alpine Ligurian, protected as a linguistic minority and associated with the Occitan area. Once a populous village, but now almost depopulated. Unforgettable its perched village skyline, “eagle’s nest”
